LIANI AUSTIN

Position: Practice Owner / Therapist

 

Qualifications:

  • Occupational Therapy Degree – University of Pretoria (2005)
  • SIPT trained and post-graduate qualification in Sensory Integration (2011)
  • Basic DIRFloortime® provider (2015)
  • Tomatis® Level 1 Practitioner (2016)

Liani treats children over all age and diagnostic spectrums. She has a true passion for "difficult" children and their families who are often misunderstood. She also has a calling for abandoned babies and children, and the link between attachment and development. Infants are often referred to Liani when they are slow to reach their milestones such as crawling or for a general evaluation “check-up” of their development if they were born prematurely or if there are any concerns about their development. She also evaluates and treats the fussy baby who cries excessively and sleeps poorly, often an early sign of sensory processing disorder. Liani got ample practice while caring for newborns and young babies as a place of safety mom in her own home. She is currently a foster mommy to a little toddler.

 
 

ANNERI OOSTHUIZEN

Position: Practice Owner / Therapist

 

Qualifications:

  • Occupational Therapy Degree – University of Pretoria (2005)
  • SIPT trained and post-graduate qualification in Sensory Integration (2010)
  • Basic DIRFloortime® provider (2015)

Like all the therapists at Therapy Factory, Anneri treats children over all ages and diagnostic spectrums, but has a passion for children with ADHD & ADD.  This is due to her living with this condition on a daily basis and having fun with it!  She is also interested in the effect of Sensory Processing Difficulties on children with ADHD and exploring the similarities of these two look-alike conditions.  Furthermore she enjoys working with Gr.00 – Gr.2 ADHD children by helping them achieve their optimal performance level in the current school based system.

 
 

ANNEMIE VAN ZYL

Position: Occupational therapist

 

Qualifications:

  • Occupational Therapy Degree – University of Pretoria (2014)
  • Completed C1 of SIPT training as part of Sensory Integration Qualification
  • Tiny Handz Basic South African Sign Language Training (2015)
  • Introduction to DIRFloortime® Training Program (2017)

Annemie treats children over all ages and diagnostic spectrums. She is passionate about early intervention of babies and toddlers with trauma, developmental delays or special needs. She loves using active play in therapy sessions to reach goals and facilitate interaction. She values working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and involving the family in order to further a child's progress. 

 

 

   
   

                

MARI-LOUISE OLIVIER

Position: Occupational Therapist

 

Qualifications:

  • Occupational Therapy Degree – University of Pretoria (2015)
  • Completed C1 of SIPT training as part of Sensory Integration Qualification
  • Trained in basic Buggy and Wheelchair seating

Mari-Louise treats children over all age and diagnostic spectrums. She is especially passionate about early intervention for young children but has a great love for all children.  She enjoys being part of a child’s OT journey and assisting them to reach their optimal potential and individual goals. 

 
 
 

NOLENE RUST

Position: Play Therapist

 

Qualifications:

  • BPsych counseling; MDIAC Playtherapy; MSW Forensic social work

Over the years play therapy has been found to reduce stress, help with the expression of all sorts of experiences and enhance positive coping mechanisms.  As playing is at the heart of every child’s inner world, Nolene helps children to communicate experiences in a way that they are comfortable with.  Not only does this empower children, but it also renders them with ideas to solve problems, reduce frustration and encourage self-expression and the development if self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.

Nolene offers play therapy, but also renders socio-emotional assessments, parent-child-attachment play, and interactional analysis for relationships.  She is not only based at Therapy Factory, but at a few therapy centres.
